Our "Spotlight On..." series allows us to introduce you to the creative, intelligent and all-round brilliant women who inspire us. Everyone one of them is a #lilyandlionelgirl.
Isabel Spearman is an image and brand consultant. Before launching Spearman Consulting, Isabel worked with Samantha Cameron as her Special Advisor covering two general elections and playing a key role in building her public profile internationally. Isabel is an Ambassador for Smart Works, a charity helping women in need regain their confidence by providing work outfits and interview training. She is also a columnist for Stella Magazine, Sunday Telegraph.
Following the success of her recently launched IG account @dailydressedit, Isabel Spearman's Instagram curation of dreamy dresses has been brought to life. Complete with stunning interiors by Campbell-Rey (including pink tennis-court floors), gorgeous furniture and cushions by Ceraudo (which is also available to buy!), brilliant blooms by Willow Crossley Creates and of course, rails and rails of dresses to shop, it’s a pop-up you won’t want to miss. We’re thrilled to be a part of it.
Open 9th-22nd May, 6-7 Motcomb Street, Belgravia, London.
What made you start your IG account @thedailydressedit?
I had been talking about it with friends for a while and one of them said “if you don’t do it someone else will” which was like a red rag to a bull. I buy so much of my wardrobe through instagram and I loved the idea of giving people a daily edit of what dresses were out there to buy.
How did The Daily Dress Edit pop-up come to life?
I was approached by the Grosvenor Estate whose marketing team all followed me to curate my own Pop Up. Its not often you are offered your own shop space in a premium site in the middle of Belgravia!
What do you look for when buying a dress?
Ideally that it will do several jobs and it is easy to wear. But then I love an emotional purchase- when you just can’t help but fall in love with a dress and have to own it.
How would you describe your personal style?
Always a midi and always a print.
Any style icons you look to for inspiration?
Anyone who is bold with colour like Giovana Battaglia and I adore all 1970’s references- Charlotte Rampling, Lauren Hutton, Talitha Getty.
Three items in your wardrobe you can’t live without?
A denim dress I wear for weekends, my trench from Uniqlo that goes with everything and my Wandler handbag.
Your favourite places to go in London for drinks, a meal, a gallery or museum...where do you like to spend your free time?
I live in the countryside so when I am in London for work I head straight for sushi. Chisou on Woodstock St has a Horenso salad that I dream about.
Leopard or Floral? This is like choosing between my children - I can’t. Both?!
City or Suburbs? City, because I live in beautiful countryside I appreciate the buzz of central London more than ever. It kicks my brain into gear.
Massage or Manicure? Neither, they take too much time.
Dress down or Dress up? Dress up, any excuse.
Work or Play? I love working.
Coffee or Cocktails? Gin and Tonic all the way.
Beach or Sightseeing? Sightseeing as my favourite thing to do when abroad is to wander around exploring. Less museums and more hidden alleyways and any shop that sells crockery.
