New collaboration alert! And this is one we are especially proud of.
Lily and Lionel has teamed up with Sentebale, a charity founded in 2006 by Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso of Lesotho. Meaning ‘forget-me-not’, Sentebale is an organisation dedicated to the children of Lesotho who have been affected by poverty and the HIV/AIDS epidemic. By developing long-term solutions to the problems facing Lesotho today, Sentebale aims to provide future generations with the tools they need to build sustainable communities and brighter futures.
We have designed 2 exclusive prints inspired by Lesotho's traditional Basotho blankets, a garment that has been worn by the population for centuries, for both everyday and special occasions. Only 30 pieces of each print have been produced, making this an extremely limited edition collection.
Our Kobo print scarf takes its inspiration from one of the most famous styles of Basotho blanket: the Seana Marena blanket. Seana Marena means ‘the king’s blanket’ as it was reserved for kings and chiefs. It traditionally featured a motif that symbolised fecundity and prosperity - the symbol featured in our mirrored print. Available in 2 vibrant colour-ways, Kobo Earth and Kobo Water, this print is our interpretation of an ancient and rich tradition.
75% from the sale of these scarves will be donated by Lily and Lionel to Sentebale to help its work with the children of Lesotho. The scarves will be available to purchase online from July.
