The fashion baton has been passed onto London. As we kick off Fashion Week, we give you an insight to our favourite spots in our hometown.
Story Deli in Shoreditch is a true hidden gem. So hidden in fact, you have to call the restaurant’s owner when you’re on the street to find out which door it’s hidden behind. Once in, you’re greeted with candlelight and papier-mâché stools. Story Deli only seats 20 people, so a cosy, relaxed atmosphere is guaranteed. The food is simple but delicious pizzas, all made using exclusively organic ingredients.
For the more gastronomically indecisive, we recommend you head to Dalston Street Feast. A corrugated courtyard full of food from every corner of world, each stall serves small portions so that you have enough room to sample a whole variety of things.
An oldie but a goodie, we will never fall out of love with Liberty. A huge champion of British brands, you can spend hours exploring each department, from stationary to fine jewellery - and the staff in each is lovely and incredibly knowledgeable. Be sure to refuel in their tea room.
The Connaught is the epitome of British luxury and elegance. Whilst hosting our SS15 launch there in the very grand Carlos Room, we very much enjoyed making ourselves at home and strolling down the bouquet-lined corridors.
Walk down any street in East London and you will be entirely surrounded by vibrant, thought-provoking art plastered across every wall. Alternative London offers tours of this guerrilla gallery, either on foot or bike, every day of the week. Aside from being infectiously passionate and clued-up on the East End’s history of street art, all of the tour guides have parallel careers in film, theatre and art, and bring that creative background to their tours to create a completely unique insight into London’s art culture. As street art is ever-changing, the tours constantly adapt and so always offer something fresh and new.
