MEET ARABELLA GREENHILL, FASHION DIRECTOR OF INSTYLE

Posted by Sabi in The Lily and Lionel Woman Series with 0 comments

Fashion Director of InStyle Magazine, Arabella Greenhill, is a woman who is so effortlessly chic and sartorially wise, we were delighted to have the opportunity to visit the InStyle HQ and quiz her on all things style. Ahead of the release of our full interview with Arabella, here we have a few snippets of our conversation…

You have to travel so often for work, what are your favourite home comforts?

I like a nice scented candle, I like to make sweet potato brownies, and sit down with my kids and watch a movie. When I go away and missing everything, I open my suitcase and my kids and husband have put little notes throughout my suitcase so I never forget them, not that I ever will, but it makes me smile.

What are the most cherished items in your wardrobe?

I have lots of lovely pieces of jewellery, like my engagement ring which belonged to my husband’s grandmother and a lovely emerald ring from my grandmother. I also have a Helen Storey beaded skirt from the Eighties which I have kept hold of.

What are your favourite things to do in London in the autumn?

I don’t get to see much of autumn in London because I’m always away for the whole of fashion month, travelling from New York to Paris to see all the shows. For the days that I am in London though, I love to go the cinema because all the pre-Oscar movies start to come out and there are always amazing exhibitions to visit. It feels like that back to school thing.

Top picks from the AW15 Collection?

When I think Lily and Lionel, I think great prints, especially leopard prints, and really nice scarves, but what is so nice about the new collection is the introduction of the much heavier weight and the wools. Pieces like the Bailey Navy Blue are simple but they have that cosy, blanket-y feel about them.
