ALICE ON THE SLOPES

Posted by Sabi in About Town, Travel with 0 comments

Where I stay -

I love to stay in Lech, a beautiful and quaint village in Austria with the perfect slopes and relaxed crowds. Everything is family-owned and there are no chains. We stay at the Berghof hotel which is gorgeous - think roaring log fires, a sublime spa and beautiful views of the valley.

- What I pack -

I always like to stick to neutral pieces that you can layer up, so I pack plenty of simple white t-shirts and thermal polo necks, which look great under a little dress in the evening. I also pack a couple of over-sized, deep v neck cashmere sweaters. I like to buy men’s sweaters so they feel super slouchy, and then I’ll team them with my favourite black leather trousers for evening.

I live in my Yves Salomon coat, which I like to team with a great cashmere scarf or something chunky like our Bailey scarf for total cosiness.  A cross body bag for the evening is essential - you won't want to feel like you're carrying anything after a long day of skiing.

- My skincare routine -

As your skin is constantly exposed to freezing temperatures and heating, I always make sure my wash bag includes Elemis’ Frangipani Monoi Body Oil which is ideal for keeping skin hydrated. I also swear by their Cellular Recovery Skin Bliss Capsules to keep my skin nourished day and night. I love Ren Moroccan rose shower and bath gel which is so refreshing after a day full of activities. Their Instant Brightening Beauty Shot Eye Lift is amazing before you go to sleep as your skin literally drinks the moisture in and you wake up with zero puffiness.

- Evening reading material -

I mainly work by the fire every day after I finish skiing. Your head is so clear after all the mountain air, so I feel super productive, but I also love to take a light-hearted book that makes you smile after a day on the slopes.

- Favourite après-ski activities -

It’s a requisite to have fondue at least once when you’re skiing! The Berghof does mean mean and cheese options. I also love Alter Golden Berg for lunch. Stroltz is great for a designer fix or beautiful objects for the home. We're proud to be stocked in there!
